Finally, it was time for us to leave Netherlands from the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Taipei TaoYuan Airport via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. We were sorry to say good bye to Netherlands, Europe & friends as there were no plan for our next trip, and we have so many unforgetable memories with these lands and people.
The Amsterdam Schiphol Airport was very busy. After we unloaded our luggages, YL has to return the car to Avis, which they claimed that they didn't receive the TomTom navigator that we had returned to them before July at Avis Eindhoven station. In a result, they made a record on the list to compromise and let YL goes as they could not contact their colleagues on Sunday that the office was closed. Thank you for the help of one of the colleagues of YL who help to take care of the kids when we were busy during check in.
On the other hand, the customs didn't see any valid visa in our passport. They suspected us to be illegally stayed in the Netherlands, while our Netherlands' ID has been asked to return to the company and we did not have a copy on hand. We were asked to go to the custom check room with our kids and hand luggages. They just accepted our entry to the gate of the flight until they saw 'The Deregistration Letter of Residency' that offered by the Town Hall. We made the deregistration with our ID within 3 days before we left the countries. Not all the ID holders needed to show when doing the deregistration.
In a hurry, when we arrived at the flight check in counter, we were asked to take off our shoes and walked though the scanner. This was the first time that we needed to take off our shoes for checking. Due to the above obstacles, there were some delayed, but luckily we were able to take on the flight.
According to the counter check in records, we were arranged to sit in the middle at the first row of the economy class of Eva airlines plane BR76. During the flights, the kids enjoyed the video, audio, small gifts, drinks and meals that served by the air hostess. We were specially happy to be served with Chinese porriage and dried meat flakes (肉鬆) during the breakfast which refreshed us after a long, good sleep.
The flights totally took us over 15hrs and we arrived at Taiwan TaoYuan International Airport safely on time at around noon on 26th, Oct, 2009.
Our car were loaded with plenty of luggages after arrived at the Taiwan TaoYuan Airport
